FAQ

What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology comes from the Greek word kinesis, which means motion. In the medical sciences kinesiology is the study of muscles and movement on human being as well as on animals.

Advanced kinesiology and other programs we offer at the IKTI, use kinesiology to refer to muscle testing, a form of biofeedback. Using specific muscle testing procedures, this biofeedback system allows us to communicate directly with the body's bio-computer on different levels such as the structural, emotional and nutrition level just to mention a few. We test the body's systems & programs to help with different issues and aspects of our lives.

The body has all the answers to our imbalances and issues. By learning this biofeedback system, we learn how to tap into the body’s inner healing intelligence.
The body is just like a computer system that is programmed and can be reprogrammed, clearing deep anchored destructive patterns, mental and emotional blocks and much more. It can benefit from upgrades and new tools that help us function better, excel in different aspects of our lives and access optimal health and well-being.

What type of kinesiology we practice at the IKTI?

We use muscle testing as a form of biofeedback, to identify imbalances in the body's energy system. For instance each muscle being tested could relate to an organ, gland or meridian depending on the test used. Every muscle could also, once balanced and ready to be muscle tested, be used to identify different unwanted patterns, systems and/or programs in our body’s bio-computer.

Once imbalances are identified through the muscle testing procedures, only the body’s bio-computer would be able to tell us what would strengthen or cancel, eliminate a specific imbalance. Either it is to reprogram some conflicts and/or sabotages, identify substances that weaken the body energy or to simply balance muscles, glands, organs and/or meridians. Only our own and unique body has the answers to our own imbalances.

Anyone without any prior knowledge of muscles, physiology and/or meridians can easily learn this process. Our training is open to all.

Do you use needles?
No, we work with the acupuncture meridian system without needles. We only use gentle touch on energy reflex points.

Do I need a license to use this?
No, you do not need a license to use kinesiology. Questions about becoming a credentialed professional kinesiologist will be addressed in class.

Can children attend the IKTI courses?
Our courses are open to all and yes the courses we offer at the IKTI are easy enough for even children to use and learn. The protocols are safe to use on family and friends.  Many people report that IKTI courses help them put the power of choice and change back into their hands. They feel empowered and responsible for their lives and health choices. Children become very curious and love to muscle test or to be muscle tested. They want to know what is or isn’t good for them. Bringing your child to one of our classes can help you reconnect and deepen your relationship with your child. Must be minimum 13 years old and you must call ahead to inform and get approval.

Can I self-test?
Muscle testing is a science and an art. Doing it well on others takes training and practice, just like anything else. Doing it on yourself requires more rigor, as you must be neutral and unbiased in order to get a clear result from muscle testing. This is not that simple when someone may be attached to the results of the test itself and therefore jeopardize the accuracy of the test. Understandably, it is difficult for someone to be detached from him or herself. However, with experience and practice, you may learn to be neutral and unbiased and trust the body’s natural healing intelligence. What is certain is that it takes time, practice and real detachment from the results. We do not teach self-test in AK training. It is only in the course "Find the missing links with muscle testing" that we address this technique.

Is it too much to take one level after the other?
No, it is like going from one chapter of a book to another. The more you practice the muscle testing procedure going from one level to the next, the more skilled you become. It gets easier with more tools and hands-on experience. You become more at ease with the biofeedback system as you go from one level to the next. Plus, it is better to continue your practice if you can, without time lags.

What shall I bring to class?
Bring healthy snacks and water you can eat during the busy day of learning. Also bring different types of water and samples of the foods and products you normally consume. You will have the opportunity to muscle test all of those things to determine what is good and not good for you.  Many people find this process to be fun, informative and even surprising.

What to wear?
Wear comfortable clothes. Long shorts or pants are good depending on the season.  You may want to dress in layers to adjust for temperature. Do not wear heavy perfumes or colognes.

Can I register at the last minute or on the day of the workshop?
Space is limited.  Please register as early as possible to ensure your space is reserved and you will not have to wait for the next round of courses, since they must be taken in succession.  I will accept last minute registrations if space is available.
